Where avocado meets creativity
Bali attracts millions of visitors every year, but the island’s rapid development has led to severe environmental degradation. The Avocado Factory’s goal is to take action in making conscious choices that benefit both the environment and the local economy of Bali. The restaurant takes a strong stance on being sustainable by using recycled bricks and sustainable cement in construction (In collaboration with ECOLAB08), a rain water collection system installed to conserve water for the garden and toilets. Tables, tiles, fence and decorative art incorporate upcycled plastic. Foods are ethically and locally sourced working hands in hands with local artisans and farmers. They are dedicated to being more than just a restaurant, it’s a responsible community-driven establishment that strives to make a positive impact on both the environment and the local community.
BLINK'S SUSTAINABLE RETAIL INSIGHTS
Retail, as a significant player in global economy, has a substantial opportunity to positively impact the environment and address climate change. First, optimizing supply chains. By working closely with suppliers to improve efficiency and reduce transportation-related emissions, retailer can reduce carbon emissions. Second, using sustainable sourcing and products. By prioritizing sourcing of raw and recycled materials and adopting eco-friendly manufacturing processes, retailers can offer products with a lower environmental impact. This may involve promoting fair trade and ensuring ethical labor practices. Last but not least, retailers have a platform to educate consumers. By raising awareness and providing information about the environmental impact of certain choices, retailers can influence consumer behavior and encourage more sustainable consumption patterns.
